Local Businessmen Pilot Theater Education Initiative
"Best Of Broadway" To Hold Workshops For
Children and Senior Citizens
What Makes A Successful Show?
Local DC area businessmen
Chauncey Dunham, Sr., CEO of
Elegance In Motorcoaches, LLC, a
luxury transportation provider and
Gary A. Johnson, President of
Gary A. Johnson Company &
Associates, LLC, a
management training and consulting
company, have launched a new
initiative aimed at educating
traditionally underserved
communities about live theater.
The program will consist of
customized workshops to meet the
needs of every age group and
interest. Dunham and Johnson have
partnered in the past. In 2009, the
two were instrumental in providing a
custom Mobile Technology Bus
to the DC Public School System (DCPS)
to promote STEM (Science,
Technology, Engineering & Math)
education.
"I got this idea in the middle of
the night. I wanted to enhance the
work that Gary was already doing
with his Saturday program in the
Ward 8 Community in Washington, DC.
This program compliments the work
Gary is doing with the DC Public
School System and
AARP," says Dunham.
   
Chauncey contacted long time friend
Stephanie Lee, CEO of
Best of Broadway.com, who
liked the idea and arranged a
meeting in New York with Chauncey,
Gary and Broadway show producers to
develop a fun and interactive
educational program for
participants.
Stephanie Lee
grew up in and around the theater.
Her knowledge of the "business" of
Broadway and her passion for the
arts make her an invaluable partner.

Schools and Youth Groups
We will provide access to
interactive workshops in multiple
areas of interests for schools and
youth groups using Broadway
instructors who will customize the
workshops to meet the needs of your
group.

theater production that is age and
interest appropriate.

musical Avenue Q, appeared on Broadway
in Shrek The Musical and in
Disney's Beauty and the Beast, and created and
starred in The Playhouse Disney series ''Johnny and

the production of John Tartaglia's ImaginOcean.
A one-of-a-kind live black-light puppet show,
John Tartaglia's ImaginOcean is a magical
undersea adventure for kids of all ages. Tank,
Bubbles and Dorsel and three best friends who just
happen to be fish, and they're about to set out on a
remarkable journey of discovery. And it all starts
with a treasure map. As they swim off in search of
clues, they'll sing, they'll dance, and they'll make
new friends, including everyone in the audience.
Ultimately they discover the greatest treasure of
all: friendship.
